LEONHARD HEYDEN is a company with long-lasting traditions and experience in the leather goods business with origins dating back to the 19th century. On 1st of May 1891 Ferdinand Heyden opened a small retail shop with an integrated saddlery in Cologne. After nearly 30 years, in 1920, his son Leonhard and his wife Adelheid took over the business which by this time had become very successful. In 1958 the two sons of the couple, Ludwig and Leo, started to work for the family business. Following the trend of the time, the assortment included folders, satchels, briefcases, wallets, and bags for waiters. In 1987 Ludwig's daughter Beate and her husband Dietmar Jost joined the company representing the fourth generation. The offer, originally focused on men's articles like briefcases, suitcases, writing sets and accessories, was extended to women's items in 2001. LEONHARD HEYDEN stands for traditional craftsmanship, state of the art design and high functionality. The collection under the LEONHARD HEYDEN brand is divided into three segments: Classic, Business and Woman. LEONHARD HEYDEN is listed by more than a thousand retailers in Germany and abroad.
